Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using baMAP at bamap.io ("the Platform"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use baMAP.
These Terms apply to all visitors, registered practitioners, and anyone who submits content to the Platform.
Who Can Use baMAP
baMAP is a professional directory intended for certified Behaviour Analysts and related professionals. To create or claim a profile, you must:
- Hold a recognised certification such as BCBA, BCaBA, QABA, or equivalent
- Be 18 years of age or older
- Provide accurate and truthful information about yourself
Visitors may browse the directory without registering. Registration is required to create or edit a profile, or to submit events to The Hub.
Your Account
baMAP uses a magic link authentication system — no password is required. A secure sign-in link is sent to your registered login email address when you wish to access your account.
You are responsible for:
- Keeping your login email address secure and up to date
- All activity that occurs under your account
- Notifying us immediately if you believe your account has been compromised
We distinguish between your login email (private, used only for authentication) and your public contact email (displayed on your profile). These may be different addresses.
Profile Listings
By creating or claiming a profile on baMAP, you agree that:
- All information you provide is accurate, current, and not misleading
- You hold the certification(s) you claim to hold
- You have the right to use any photo or content you upload
- Your profile may be visible to anyone who visits baMAP
Profile edits are submitted for review and require approval before they appear publicly. We reserve the right to decline or remove any profile content that is inaccurate, inappropriate, or in breach of these Terms.
Seeded profiles: Some profiles were created using publicly available data from certification registries (e.g. BACB). If your profile was seeded without your direct involvement, you can claim it by verifying your certification number. By claiming a seeded profile you confirm the information is accurate and agree to these Terms.
The Hub — Events
Registered users may submit professional events (CEUs, conferences, workshops, community events) to The Hub. By submitting an event, you confirm that:
- The event information is accurate and not misleading
- The event is relevant to the Behaviour Analysis profession
- You have permission to use any images submitted with the event
All events are reviewed before publication. We reserve the right to decline or remove any event at our discretion.
Acceptable Use
You agree not to use baMAP to:
- Provide false, misleading, or fraudulent information
- Impersonate another person or organisation
- Claim certifications you do not hold
- Scrape, harvest, or systematically collect data from the Platform
- Attempt to gain unauthorised access to the Platform or its backend systems
- Upload malicious content or interfere with the Platform's operation
- Use baMAP for any unlawful purpose
Violation of these rules may result in immediate removal of your profile or account.
Intellectual Property
The baMAP platform, including its design, code, globe visualisation, and branding, is our intellectual property. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from the Platform without our written permission.
Content you submit to baMAP (profile text, photos, event descriptions) remains yours. By submitting it, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide licence to display that content on the Platform for the purpose of operating the directory.
Disclaimers
baMAP is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We make no warranties, express or implied, regarding:
- The accuracy or completeness of any profile or event information
- The qualifications or suitability of any listed practitioner
- The uninterrupted or error-free operation of the Platform
baMAP is a directory only. We do not endorse, recommend, or verify the suitability of any individual practitioner for any particular client or purpose. Users are responsible for conducting their own due diligence before engaging any practitioner found on baMAP.
Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, baMAP and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of — or inability to use — the Platform.
This includes, without limitation, damages arising from reliance on information in a practitioner profile, or from any interaction you have with a practitioner found through baMAP.
Termination
You may request removal of your profile at any time by contacting support@bamap.io.
We reserve the right to suspend or remove any account or profile that violates these Terms, without prior notice. We also reserve the right to discontinue or modify the Platform at any time.
Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of baMAP after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.
For significant changes, we will make reasonable efforts to notify registered users.
Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which baMAP operates. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the Platform shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of that jurisdiction.
